They destroyed the sign bearing the name of the department and, a few days ago, broke the main water line in Well No. 6.
In a dangerous development that reflects the escalation of the settlement campaign, settlers are seeking to seize control of water wells located in the Ein Samia-Kafr Malik area, which are among the most important water sources supplying the Jerusalem Water Authority.
A group of settlers stormed these stations and removed the sign bearing the name of the authority, which was placed at the entrance to these stations, and destroyed it. A few days ago, they also broke the main water line in Well No. 6, which is one of the most important wells in the Ein Samia area.
These stations supply dozens of residential areas and constitute a vital nerve center for ensuring the continuity of pumping and water supply to thousands of Palestinian families in the concession area.
The Jerusalem Water Authority expressed its deep concern over this escalation, warning that attacking the pumping stations at Ein Samia constitutes not only an assault on a civilian facility, but also a direct attack on Palestinians' right to life and water, and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
The Authority calls on international and human rights organizations to urgently intervene to stop these violations and ensure the protection of Palestinian water resources from settler attacks.
