"The war in the Gaza Strip has brought indescribable destruction and must end," Spain's King Felipe VI said on Saturday.
This came during his meeting with the Spanish community in Jordan, as part of an official two-day visit to the Kingdom, according to the official Jordanian News Agency.
"The conflict that began a year ago and has brought us images of unspeakable suffering and destruction in Gaza, and which is being exacerbated by its spread to Lebanon, must end as soon as possible," King Felipe VI said.
He continued: "We want to see the end of the humanitarian tragedy and the silence of weapons, to return to the path of politics and diplomacy."
He called for "resuming efforts with greater intensity to achieve the two-state solution that lays the foundations for a solid and lasting peace for the people."
