Hebrew media: The head of the Shin Bet informs Netanyahu’s government that the prisons are overcrowded with Palestinian detainees

The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Shin Bet head Ronen Bar informed Benjamin Netanyahu's government that the prisons contain 21,000 Palestinian detainees, while they cannot accommodate more than 14,500.

Earlier, the Hebrew Broadcasting Authority reported that the occupation forces have arrested more than 3,000 Palestinians from Gaza since October 7.

There are currently 1,160 detainees from Gaza in occupation prisons, and 139 detainees are currently still in Sde Teman near Beersheba, according to the Hebrew Broadcasting Corporation.

She added that all detainees from Gaza were transferred to Sde Teman detention center near Beersheba.

The Hebrew Broadcasting Authority said that the occupation forces released 1,700 Gaza detainees and transferred 500 others to Ofer prison.

In addition, Hebrew media reported, quoting the observer of the occupying state, saying, “We are considering opening an investigation into the issue of the release of the director of the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza.”
