War on Gaza: Israelis storm the Beit Hanoun crossing to prevent the entry of aid into Gaza

On Thursday, Israelis stormed the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing on the border with the Gaza Strip, during a demonstration demanding that humanitarian aid be prevented from entering the Strip, which is facing a worsening famine.

The official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said, “A number (it was not specified) of demonstrators against the entry of aid into Gaza stormed the Erez checkpoint, on the border with the Gaza Strip, and crossed into the Strip, violating the instructions of the Israeli army.”

The authority noted that “Israeli army forces arrested the demonstrators who crossed into the Gaza Strip,” without mentioning any other details.

During the past month, on more than one occasion, extremist Israeli activists attempted to obstruct humanitarian aid heading to Gaza at the Beit Hanoun and Kerem Shalom checkpoints, despite the two places being declared a closed military zone by the Israeli army.

It is noteworthy that the aid comes from abroad and is transferred through Israel, which announced on October 7, 2023, the closure of the crossings into Gaza.

Gaza is connected to Israel by the Beit Hanoun crossing, designated for the passage of individuals, and the Kerem Shalom crossing (Kerem Shalom) for the passage of goods.
