20 killed in an Israeli bombing of a school in the Gaza Strip
20 people were killed and dozens injured in an Israeli attack that “targeted” a school in northern Gaza, according to what the Ministry of Health in the Strip announced at dawn (Saturday).
A statement by the Ministry of Health said that “20 martyrs and dozens of wounded” were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City as a result of “direct targeting” of a school that had been converted into a camp to shelter displaced persons in the Al-Saftawi area in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Ministry indicated that the school was directly targeted by tank shells, according to what Agence France-Presse reported.
Today (Saturday), Palestinian television reported that seven people were killed in an Israeli bombing of two homes in Nuseirat and Rafah in the Gaza Strip. He stated that raids, which he described as violent, targeted areas in Beit Lahia in the north of the Gaza Strip and Al-Nasr neighborhood in the west. The television also reported more than 20 raids on the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood carried out by Israeli warplanes.
On the other hand, the Palestinian News and Information Agency (Wafa) quoted local sources that Israeli aircraft targeted the Al-Atatra, Al-Sudaniyya, and northern Beit Lahia areas.
The agency added that the aircraft targeted homes in Beit Hanoun, Jabalia, the Al-Nasr neighborhood, the vicinity of the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza City, the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of the city, and the Nuseirat and Bureij camps.
The agency said that Israeli aircraft and artillery carried out several raids on the city of Khan Yunis, south of Gaza, and the Al-Qarara area, east of the Strip. It quoted sources as saying that the bombing caused deaths and a large number of injuries, without specifying numbers.
