60 killed and wounded by Israeli bombing of ambulances in front of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.

The Palestinian Shehab News Agency quoted the director of the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza as saying, today, Friday, that at least 60 Palestinians were killed or wounded in an Israeli bombing on the gate of the complex located west of Gaza City, “according to the Arab World News Agency.”

The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement: “At exactly 16:30, the Israeli occupation forces launched an air strike on Al-Rashid Street on the western side of Gaza, and the target was a group of ambulances returning from a mission to transport the wounded to the Rafah crossing, including an ambulance belonging to the Red Crescent. Palestinian Red.

The Palestinian Information Center quoted the director of the complex as saying that there were deaths among the medical staff as a result of the bombing.

The Hamas movement said in a statement that Israel was once again committing “a heinous, premeditated and monitored massacre in front of the gate of Al-Shifa Hospital, by bombing ambulances that were carrying injured and wounded, which led to the death and injury of dozens, as well as the deliberate bombing of the vicinity of Al-Quds Hospital and the Indonesian Hospital at the same time.” ».

He added: “We hold the United States and the international community responsible for this massacre... and we warn against the occupier committing more massacres by targeting civilians and medical facilities.”

Witnesses had told the Arab World News Agency that the bombing targeted an ambulance that was carrying wounded as part of a convoy that was supposed to head to the Rafah crossing.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza had announced, earlier today, that it would send a convoy of ambulances carrying a large number of wounded to take them to the southern Gaza Strip, asking the International Committee of the Red Cross to accompany it.

The ministry’s spokesman, Ashraf Al-Qudra, said that there are “hundreds of serious and critical cases” of wounded that have exceeded the capabilities of the “Al-Shifa Medical Complex,” which requires their exit to Egyptian hospitals, but Israel prevents their access to southern Gaza, “by cutting off roads and targeting ambulances.”

For its part, the Israeli army said today that it is verifying the report of the Ministry of Health in Gaza that dozens of Palestinians were injured in an Israeli strike on an ambulance convoy.
