Today, Wednesday, US President Joe Biden reiterated his belief in Israel to defend its citizens, but at the same time he indicated the necessity of "protecting innocent civilians in Gaza who were victims of the conflict between Israel and the Hamas movement."

Biden also renewed, during a joint press conference with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanizi, the call for a two -state solution as soon as the current conflict calms down.

He stressed that "there is no return to the situation that was located on October 6 between Israel and the Palestinians." The US President said: "I was annoyed by the settlers' attacks on the Palestinians in the West Bank."

He added, "The attacks of extremist settlers should stop on the Palestinians in places of them."

As he called Israel to adhere to the laws of war and do everything in its power to protect innocent civilians, he said: “We have to remember that (Hamas) does not represent the vast majority of the Palestinian people and hide behind civilians.”

Biden targeted the Israeli settlers in the West Bank with a rare reprimand, and repeated his calls for a solution to the establishment of two states as soon as the current conflict calms down.

Biden expressed his belief that the Hamas attack was caused by the progress made in integrating Israel into the region, and he said: "The next stage must be represented in a two -state solution, and there is a need to work on a greater integration of Israel."

In addition, Biden indicated that he had not asked Israel to postpone its ground attack in Gaza.

"It is their decision and I did not ask for (postponing it) ... What I referred to with him is that if these (hostages) can be taken out in peace, this is what we must do." Biden stressed that he "does not trust" the outcome of the dead, announced by the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip of Hamas.
