Israeli sources: We received signals before the attack, but they were not taken into account

Israeli sources said that the army received intelligence signals indicating that there were preparations the night before the attacks from the besieged Gaza Strip, but they were not taken into account.

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said, "There was no concrete intelligence warning about this incident. There were a set of intelligence signals the night before, but not about such a move."

This came as an assessment of the criticisms related to the presence of security weakness during the “Al-Aqsa Deluge” attacks launched by the Palestinian factions on the settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip on October 7.

In turn, Israeli Channel 12 said, citing senior sources, that there were indications that something might happen on the eve of the Hamas attack, but they were not taken into account.

Hagari reported that the army targeted the homes and bases of the elite forces of the Al-Qassam Brigades, which participated in the attacks on the Israeli settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip.

He confirmed that the Israeli army is making preparations in anticipation of a possible attack from the north on the border with Lebanese territory where Hezbollah is active.

At dawn on Saturday, Hamas and other Palestinian factions in Gaza launched Operation “Al-Aqsa Deluge” in response to the continuing attacks by Israeli forces and settlers against the Palestinian people, their property and sanctities, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.

On the other hand, the Israeli army launched Operation Iron Swords and continues to launch intensive raids on many areas in the Gaza Strip, which is inhabited by more than two million Palestinians who suffer deteriorating living conditions as a result of an ongoing Israeli siege since 2006.
