Netanyahu to "Biden": There will be no settlement plans until the end of the year

On Tuesday evening, new details were revealed about US President Joe Biden's conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to the reliable Israeli political reporter, Barak Ravid, Biden told Netanyahu that his country's administration is looking with concern at the expansion of settlement construction in the West Bank.

Ravid quoted American and Israeli sources familiar with the content of the conversation as saying that Netanyahu had assured Biden that there would be no promotion of more settlement plans and that the Supreme Council for Planning and Building would not convene until the end of this year.

Biden also warned that the escalation of the situation in the West Bank would not serve the chances of normalization with Saudi Arabia, and Netanyahu also demanded the implementation of Cabinet decisions regarding the strengthening of the Palestinian Authority.

Commenting on this, Tzachi Hanegbi, head of the Israeli National Security Council, said that there would be no halt to settlement construction, and Netanyahu did not pledge to Biden to do so, but he stressed that there would be no new declaration of construction in the settlements.
