Israel's Jenin invasion: Death toll rises to 10

Jenin – On Tuesday morning, the body of Udai Khamaysa was found in the agricultural land inside Jenin refugee camp, bringing the death toll from Israel's large-scale invasion to 10 on its second day.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, 100 people have been wounded, and 20 of them are in a serious or critical condition.

In one of the most major raids on a West Bank city in over a decade, Israel launched an aerial bombardment on Sunday night before some 2,000 troops entered the camp with the aim of weeding out militants.

The army continued to destroy homes and infrastructure on the second day.

Daniel Hagari, a spokesman for the Israeli army, told the public broadcaster Kan that they arrested 120 wanted men out of around 160. He said the operation is targeting 10 other areas in the camp. Five laboratories for manufacturing explosives were also destroyed.

1,500 Palestinians left the camp to avoid the fighting, he added.

In a separate statement, the Israeli army claimed that it destroyed an underground weapons storage facility, two control centers, and that they detonated a large explosive device found in the city. They also said that the confiscated a large amount of weapons.
