The US embassy ignores Smotrich and Ben Gvir again
The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported, on Monday, that the US embassy in occupied Jerusalem did not invite Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir to the official ceremony it will hold on the third of next month on the occasion of commemorating the American Independence Day.
According to the newspaper, many ministers and members of the Israeli Knesset were invited, some of whom are younger than Smotrich and Ben Gvir.
The newspaper pointed out that the embassy also refrained from inviting other members of the religious Zionist parties (Smotrich's party) and the Jewish Power (Ben Gvir's party), as well as members of Noam's party.
Choosing not to invite members of these parties to the traditional ceremony, the paper says, joins the administration's unspoken policy in Washington of not cooperating with religious Zionism and Jewish power.
In response to Haaretz's question, the US embassy replied that only government officials who work with it were invited to the party.
