Israeli settlers attack Palestinians in Hebron, Bethlehem
Armed settlers attacked Palestinians in two separate locations in the West Bank on Wednesday, following a night of violent incidents across the occupied territory.
Israeli settlers severely beat a Palestinian in the village of Birin, southeast of Hebron, and stole his wallet, identity card and 750 shekels. According to local sources, a group from the Bnei Hefer settlement assaulted 41-year-old Ibrahim Musa Azzameh while he was at the entrance to the village.
In a separate incident, a settler chased away shepherds with a gun to prevent them from grazing their sheep in the village of Kisan, east of Bethlehem.
Sources from the area said that settlers were grazing a flock of sheep on lands belonging to Hussein Abdullah Obayat, adjacent to the Ibei HaNahal outpost, which is located on Palestinian lands.
Shepherds in the village of Kisan have long been subjected to attacks from settlers, under the protection of occupation forces.
The settler violence has prevented the Palestinian shepherds from grazing their sheep, and has caused financial distress to many in the area. They have also experienced direct violence, including injuries, as well as arrests from the occupation forces.
