Hussein Sheikh, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, said on Monday that an emergency meeting of the Palestinian leadership will be held in light of the Israeli escalation.

Al-Sheikh said in a tweet on Twitter that the meeting, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, will take unprecedented decisions.

He considered what is happening as a fierce and open political, security and economic war against the Palestinian people.

He said, "We are in the midst of a comprehensive battle on all fronts, which requires the unity of our people in the face of this aggression."
