A Hamas leadership delegation, headed by Ismail Haniyeh, head of the movement's political bureau, met Minister Abbas Kamel, head of Egyptian General Intelligence, on Monday in Cairo.

The meeting of the Hamas delegation included Saleh Al-Arouri, Khaled Meshaal, Khalil Al-Hayya, and Rouhi Mushtaha, as stated in a statement by the Hamas movement.

The statement described the meeting as positive and fruitful, and reflected Hamas and Egypt's keenness on the unity of the Palestinian position and alleviating the suffering of our people, especially in the Gaza Strip.

During the meeting, they reviewed a summary of issues of common interest, including the political and regional situation, especially in the Palestinian territories, especially after the recent escalation in the Gaza Strip, as well as the situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
