Israeli estimates: Erdogan will continue rapprochement with Tel Aviv
The Israeli political level estimates that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, after his re-election yesterday, will continue rapprochement with Israel.
These estimates come - according to the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz - from the return of positive relations between the two sides, especially after Erdogan's meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen in Ankara 3 months ago, and that was preceded by a meeting between him and Israeli President Isaac Herzog last year.
Herzog rushed last night to congratulate Erdogan on the victory, and said: "I am convinced that we will continue to work together to strengthen and expand the good relations."
Israeli observers believe that Erdogan is interested in expanding relations with Israel, as he is currently doing with neighboring countries in the Middle East.
