President Mahmoud Abbas said that the Palestine Liberation Organization preserved the national decision for an independent and protected the national project from being lost, stressing that the establishment of the organization and its representation of our people is one of the most important achievements of Palestinian politics.

On the 59th anniversary of the founding of the organization, President Abbas added that its establishment came to thwart the plans of the global Zionist movement and the Israeli occupation that sought to obliterate the identity of the Palestinian people, and to be the opposite of this Zionist project, as it became the political and moral house and the sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, and it won the recognition of the whole world.

The President praised the first founders of the Palestine Liberation Organization, headed by the late Palestinian leader Ahmed Al-Shugairi, and everyone who worked to preserve this important national achievement, stressing the role of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement "Fatah" and all the factions of the Liberation Organization in preserving it.

He pointed out that the PLO has assumed its representative capacity for the Palestinian people through sacrifices and convoys of martyrs and prisoners, stressing that it will remain the sole and legitimate representative of our people, and that all suspicious attempts to circumvent it and find alternatives to it will fall.

The President said: The organization, during its long journey, went through very difficult stages, targeting its existence, but it remained steadfast in the face of all the conspirators, bearing the concerns and suffering of our Palestinian people in all places of their presence, and their aspirations to obtain freedom and independence like the rest of the peoples of the world.

He called on all Palestinians to join the organization and rally around its comprehensive national program, stressing that it will remain the bearer of the banner of the Palestinian people and their struggle, and it will continue because it represents the Palestinian people and signs in its name, and advances the ranks in its name, and it will remain until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
