Independence was not, and will not be, just a celebration of a cherished occasion, and it is, but it has a price that we have paid, and we will continue to pay, just like all Arab and friendly peoples with limited capabilities, who are working and even struggling to preserve their political and economic independence, and their decision as imposed and dictated by interests. Supreme patriotism, for our people, with what they deserve of dignity, independence, self-preservation, and heritage, and in accordance with the changes of the era and its requirements towards development, change, and good choice.
We are not a rich country, and it will not be, but we seek to be a country that is able to cover its needs on its own, produce it, and rely on brothers and friends, just as they depend on us according to balance, exchange and common interests, not to be a burden to anyone, or to any party.
The main challenge: our internal situation, and we are distinguished by it, through national, national, religious and intellectual pluralism, within a framework of unity and harmony, far from domination, the domination of the majority over the minority, or the monopoly of a class, group or vision, and this may be one of the sources of our pride, but rather And our strength.
We do not submit to a party or an alliance, and that is why we were able to pass through many internal troubles and inter-Arab conflicts without involvement in this site or that, towards this option or that, and for this reason it is possible to brag during the era of Hussein that we did not get involved in any act affecting Iraq and refused to participate in its slaughter. Or to facilitate his occupation, as Al-Hussein told us in one of the meetings, may God have mercy on him, and we did not get involved during the era of Abdullah bin Al-Hussein, in the actions of the Arab Spring that destroyed Syria, Yemen, Libya, and any other country, and we refused to get involved, and we paid the price during the years of the past stage because we preserved not to interfere.
We have official relations with the United States, but Jordan stood tall and strong and formed a political spearhead in support of the Palestinian position, and in rejecting the American position announced by the defeated President Trump on 6/12/2017, that unified Jerusalem is the capital of the Israeli colony, and Jordan formed a political spearhead in affirmation The Palestinian position and the rejection of the American position announced by the defeated US President Trump with the head of the colonial government, Netanyahu, in Washington on 1/28/2020 regarding the "Deal of the Century".
Despite the Wadi Araba Treaty, Jordan recorded its refusal to renew the annexes to the treaty regarding the lands of Al-Baqoura in the north and Al-Ghamr in the south on 11/10/2019, confirming the independence of our national decision and preserving our interests and the wealth of our land.
Jordan faces a continuous battle in confronting the policies of the occupation regarding Jerusalem and the Islamic and Christian holy sites, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and rejects its desecration and the intrusion of foreign colonial settlers into its sanctity, and the churches of the Nativity and the Resurrection and what is related to them, confirming the bias and that we and the Palestinians are in one trench.
The battle for independence has a price that we pay, and we will continue until its steps are completed, towards Palestine, and the rest of the countries of the Arab world, with which we have a choice, reality, and a unified promising future towards complementary, gradual steps, as we aspire as a people, nation, history, and nationalism.
