Statistics issued by the General Directorate of Civil Status at the Ministry of the Interior - Civil Section showed that the Gaza Strip recorded 3,404 new births during April of this year, in addition to 262 deaths.

The statistics showed that the number of male births is estimated at 1,740, with an estimated rate of 51.12%, while the estimated percentage of female births was 48.88%, at 1,664 births. She indicated that the civil status offices in the Gaza Interior Directorate had registered 1,233 newborns; The two interior offices of Khan Yunis registered 661 births.

During the month, the northern interior offices registered 613 births, and the civil status offices in the middle interior recorded 469 births, while the civil status offices in the Rafah Interior Directorate registered 428 newborns.

Concerning the death statistics, the Civil Status reported that its offices in the governorates of the Gaza Strip recorded 262 deaths during this month, as male deaths were estimated at 145 deaths, at an estimated rate of 55.34%, compared to 117 deaths among females, at an estimated rate of 44.65%.
