Netanyahu decides to request a postponement of the evacuation of Al-Khan Al-Ahmar again

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided, at dawn on Monday, that his government would continue to request the Supreme Court to postpone the eviction of the Bedouin village of Khan al-Ahmar , east of occupied Jerusalem, for confidential reasons, until further notice.

According to the Hebrew website Ynet, this decision was taken after a special session held by Netanyahu last night in the presence of his army minister Yoav Gallant, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich , and the so-called National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir .

The session was held after Smotrich, who holds the position of minister in the Israeli Ministry of Defense, refused to inform the court to cancel the consideration of the petition submitted to evacuate Al-Khan Al-Ahmar.

Yesterday, Smotrich asked the Israeli government secretary to refrain from providing this response until a special discussion was held on this matter, which Ben Gvir supported, before Netanyahu decided to hold the special session for that.
