The return of the system of entry and departure of ships to the port of Aden as it was before the war in Yemen

Today (Saturday), the port of Aden in southern Yemen received the first container ship without inspection in the Saudi port of Jeddah, inaugurating the return of the system of entry and departure of ships to the port according to direct inspection procedures in Yemeni ports as it was previously before the outbreak of the war in the country, according to the official news agency ( (Sheba)).

The government-run agency said, "The container terminal in the port of Aden received today the container ship (Blue Nile) upon its arrival, without waiting at the anchor."

According to the official agency, this step is "an inauguration of the return of the system of entry and departure of ships directly to the port, and the conduct of direct inspection in the liberated Yemeni ports, as it was in the past before the 2015 war."

The container ship arriving today is "the first ship to enter the port of Aden without inspection in the Saudi port of Jeddah, after long government efforts and follow-ups in this regard," according to the official agency.

The entry of the ship today to the container port comes two days after the Yemeni government announced the granting of facilities through the ports under its control.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Transport in the Yemeni government announced granting a package of new facilities and privileges to importers through ports in the liberated areas (under government control).

The ministry said in a statement, "The package of facilities for importers includes allowing the entry of all types of goods through ports and ports, except for those prohibited by law, as well as communication and coordination with local and international shipping lines and ship owners, informing them of the new facilities, and the readiness of the ports of the liberated areas to accept all direct flights from different countries."

In its statement, the ministry affirmed, "taking all measures to enhance the performance of the navigational activity and setting up treatments to secure the movement of trade in the land and sea ports in the liberated areas, in addition to raising the pace of loading and unloading work, intensifying shifts, and preparing and equipping work means and equipment."

It had taken extensive measures and controls over the maritime traffic in Yemeni ports in 2015, as all ships were subject to inspection in foreign ports.
