Shin Bet: Arresting two settlers and filing charges against them
On Thursday, the Israeli General Security Agency, the Shin Bet , announced that it had arrested two settlers from Nablus settlements who attacked a Palestinian family on the night of Purim in the town of Huwwara , while they were in a vehicle that was stopping outside a shop.
According to a Shin Bet statement, the detainees threw stones at the vehicle from a short distance, and one of them used an ax to break the vehicle's windows and attempt to attack its passengers.
After interrogating them, today he filed an indictment against them on charges of deliberately committing a terrorist act for racist motives.
The Shin Bet accused the two detainees of belonging to a group of violent settlers who are working to attack Palestinians and disrupt the activities of the Israeli army to thwart Palestinian attacks.
He considered that these activities increase unrest, escalate the situation, and pose a threat to the reality of life in the region, as well as a threat to "state security," pledging to work against it alongside the police and the Israeli army.
