Jerusalem - "Jerusalem" dot com - Today, Tuesday, the Israeli occupation forces detained the Secretary-General of the Popular National Congress for Jerusalem, Major General Bilal Natsheh, at the Al-Jib military crossing, and interrogated him about the situation in Jerusalem.

Al-Natsheh stated, shortly after his release, that "he was on his way from Jerusalem to the conference headquarters, and then to the general headquarters of the Palestinian Silk Organization in Ramallah. On his way to the exit of the crossing, the soldiers stopped him and demanded his identity card and asked him to park the car aside."

He added: "The soldiers made several calls, then they informed me that I was detained at the checkpoint until instructions from the higher military command to release me arrived, and as a result, my escort contacted the lawyer Ahmed Safia, who in turn made contacts with the competent authorities, and after several hours of Arrest I was released with unfair restrictions.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that Major General al-Natsheh has been detained and arrested in other times for several days in the al-Mascobiyeh center in Jerusalem, on the background of his activity and on charges of practicing and carrying out events that prove Palestinian sovereignty in the Holy City.

In the context, the General Secretariat of the National People's Congress for Jerusalem denounced, in a statement, this unjustified detention, in which Israel violates all political agreements signed with the Palestine Liberation Organization.

It also called for an end to the occupation measures against the Palestinian leaders in the city of Jerusalem, which is subject to a planned attack by the Israeli occupation authorities.

It is noteworthy that Major General Natsheh is one of the national leaders in Jerusalem, who spent about ten years in the occupation prisons between sentences and administrative detention in the eighties and nineties of the last century.
