The Iranian Navy confiscated 150,000 liters of smuggled fuel

TEHRAN, (Xinhua) -- Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy has stopped a ship carrying 150,000 liters of smuggled fuel off the country's southeastern coast, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported.

And the agency quoted Muhammad Nozari, commander of the Imam Ali base of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard in the city of Chabahar, as saying that a number of Iranians and foreigners had been arrested.

He added that the ship was planning to deliver fuel to a neighboring country, without giving further details.

This is at least the third confiscation of its kind this month.
On April 15, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy announced that it had arrested a ship in the Gulf waters carrying 250,000 liters of smuggled fuel.
Iran's official IRNA news agency reported in early April that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy seized a foreign tanker carrying 220,000 liters of smuggled fuel in the Gulf and arrested its 11 crew.
