Jordan condemns settler violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque
Amman - "Jerusalem" dot com - The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs condemned the violations committed by extremist settlers by storming the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, and allowing them provocative practices that violate the sanctity of the Noble Sanctuary and Islamic cemeteries, with the protection of the Israeli occupation police.
Today, Tuesday, the official spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Sinan Al-Majali, said that the continuous and unacceptable provocative practices against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and their escalation and accompanying provocative practices in the sanctuary and in the Islamic cemeteries surrounding it, which are considered an Islamic endowment, in addition to continuing to impose restrictions on the entry of worshipers to the mosque. The Blessed Al-Aqsa is a flagrant and unacceptable violation of international law, and of the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its sanctities.
He stressed that the continuous violations and attacks on sanctities, in conjunction with the continuous Israeli incursions into the occupied Palestinian territories, warn of further escalation and represent a dangerous trend that must be stopped immediately.
Al-Majali stressed that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, with its entire area of 144 dunums, is a pure place of worship for Muslims, and that the Jordanian Department of the Jerusalem Endowments and the Affairs of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is the legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction to manage the affairs of the Holy Mosque and regulate entry to it. Al-Majali demanded, on behalf of the ministry, Israel. As the occupying power, to immediately stop all practices and violations against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and respect its sanctity, stressing the need to stop all measures aimed at changing the existing historical and legal situation and imposing temporal and spatial division, and respecting the authority of the Jerusalem Endowment Administration and the affairs of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
