"Israel" continues to prepare... A source for "Al-Quds": The occupation refuses to submit to the conditions of resistance
Gaza - exclusive to "Al-Quds" dot com - An informed Palestinian source said, this evening, Wednesday, that the efforts of the mediators to try to prevent any escalation from the Gaza Strip are still continuing, but they may remain stagnant without any progress in light of the Israeli occupation's refusal to submit to the conditions Palestinian resistance.
According to the source who spoke to Al-Quds.com, the Islamic Jihad Movement presented some conditions to the Egyptian side and other mediators, including allowing the family of Sheikh Bassam Al-Saadi, the leader of the movement, to check on him, and stopping the Israeli military operations in the West Bank, especially Jenin, which are mainly the cause of tension. The current security forces, in addition to the commitment to end the suffering of the hunger-striking prisoner Khalil Awawda, who faces death at any moment, with the continued refusal of the occupation to release him with the end of his current administrative detention, which was renewed for him a few days ago.
According to the source, the occupation has so far been procrastinating and has not given any clear answers, and it seems that it refuses to comply with these requests, or at least part of them, especially with regard to stopping its military operations in the West Bank, especially Jenin.
The source pointed out that the contacts of mediators, especially the Egyptian side, are continuing, pointing out that the Islamic Jihad Movement has expressed its desire not to escalate, while emphasizing its right to respond to the crimes of the occupation.
Palestinian sources confirmed this morning to Al-Quds.com that the efforts of the mediators have begun to bear fruit, and that they have begun to succeed in preventing a possible escalation that could explode at any moment.
The sources said at the time that intensive contacts took place since yesterday evening and throughout last night, between mediators from the Egyptian intelligence and Qatar, and even with the intervention of parties in the United Nations, in an attempt to prevent the Gaza Strip from being dragged into an intolerable escalation at the present time.
The sources indicated at the time that the Islamic Jihad Movement responded to the calls after ignoring a number of them from the moment of Saadi's arrest until Tuesday afternoon.
In this context, the occupation army continues to be on high alert along the borders of the Gaza Strip, fearing reprisals by the Islamic Jihad movement.
After a security assessment conducted this evening, the occupation army decided to continue the state of alert and continue to close the roads and streets near the border, and to prevent movement in them, which increased the complaints of the settlers who live in those areas, and they sharply criticized their army.
The occupation army set up fortified rooms, and placed barriers of containers and others to prevent any movement within the settlements adjacent to the borders of the Strip from being monitored.
And the Presidential Committee for Coordinating the Entry of Goods into Gaza announced that the occupation had informed it of its intention to continue closing the Kerem Shalom crossing, the only commercial crossing for the Gaza Strip, tomorrow, Thursday, which incurs heavy losses for merchants in Gaza, as it continues to be closed for the third day in a row.
This applies to the continued closure of the Beit Hanoun "Erez" checkpoint, which is designated for the movement of individuals, which means depriving more than 14,000 workers from entering the Green Line areas to work, in a clear policy of "collective punishment" against the people of the Strip.
