Prisoners Authority: Two prisoners in Raymond Prison are living in difficult health conditions amid deliberate medical negligence

Ramallah "Jerusalem" - dot com - The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs revealed in a report it issued this afternoon, quoting its lawyer, Ms. Sherine Nasser, that the health conditions of the two prisoners, A. Ahmed Salah and Fayez Baara , who are in "Raymond Prison", are facing difficult health conditions, as a result of the continued Prison administration in practicing the policy of deliberate medical negligence against them.


The authority stated that the prisoner Ahmed Salah (45 years) from the city of Bethlehem suffers from inflammation of the right colon, and this was shown as a result of the CT scan provided to him by the administration, and he was told by the prison doctor that he would be transferred to a specialist in a civilian hospital. This was last March, but the prison administration did not fulfill its promises and is still deliberately neglecting his health condition, noting that he was shot in the intestine and right foot during the siege of the Church of the Nativity and is serving a 21-year sentence to life and ten years.


As for the prisoner Fayez Baara (51 years), from the city of Nablus, who was arrested in 2004, he had cancer in the lymph nodes, and he underwent an operation immediately, and from that time until now he suffers from several problems, including a crisis in the soul, and now he needs to perform a new surgery to remove what What remained of the tumor, bearing in mind that the doctors told him that the success rate of the operation is 35%, which is very dangerous because it is close to the nerve and there is a possibility that it will cause him paralysis, but the prisoner is ready to perform the operation, because of the severe pains he suffers from, and the opinion of the prison administration and doctors was not based on medical examinations Serious medical conditions, and this is what makes the prisoner determined to undergo the operation.


The Commission held the occupation authorities fully responsible for continuing the policy of deliberate medical negligence against Palestinian prisoners, and called on international institutions, human rights institutions and the International Red Cross to play their necessary role towards the issue of prisoners, especially the sick among them.
