Two ISIS militants were killed in an operation by the Afghan security forces in the east of the country
JALALABAD, Afghanistan - (Xinhua) - Security forces stormed a hideout of the "Islamic State" terrorist organization in the Afghan city of Jalalabad, capital of eastern Nangarhar province, killing two and arresting another, according to a statement issued by the province's Department of Information and Culture on Monday. (Monday).
The statement said that the operation, which was carried out by personnel from the General Directorate of Intelligence or the country's counter-espionage agency in Police District 4 in Jalalabad city late on Sunday, resulted in the killing of two militants and the arrest of another.
The statement added that the security forces also found and seized a quantity of weapons and ammunition, including an AK-47 assault rifle, an M-16 assault rifle, and several landmines and explosive devices during the operation.
