$55 million additional food aid for Syrian refugees in Jordan
Isobel Coleman, Deputy Director of the United States Agency for International Development, announced that her country will provide, through the agency, $55 million in additional food aid for Syrian refugees in Jordan as part of the response to the Syrian crisis.

"Since the outbreak of the crisis in Syria nearly 12 years ago, hundreds of thousands of Syrians have crossed into neighboring Jordan in search of a safe haven," she said, noting that "Jordan hosts more than 670,000 registered Syrian refugees, which is the third largest number of Syrian refugees in the country." the world".
The World Food Program, with support from the United States Agency for International Development, provides basic food assistance to Syrian refugees and other vulnerable refugees in Jordan each month.
"The United States remains the largest donor of humanitarian aid to the crisis response in Syria and has provided nearly $16 billion in humanitarian assistance across Syria and the region since the beginning of the conflict, and urges other donors to support the Syrian people, given the scale and urgency of the needs and existing funding gaps," she added.
The Jordanian Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation had confirmed the extension of the Jordanian response plan to the current Syrian crisis for the year 2023, according to the needs and priorities contained in the previous plan, and agreement with ministries, government institutions, donors and international organizations on a new methodology during the current year to prepare the response plan for the years 2024-2026.
