15 dead and 22 injured in a traffic accident in Turkey
Istanbul, (AFP) - The governor of Gaziantep province announced Saturday that 15 people were killed and 22 injured in southeastern Turkey in a traffic accident with an ambulance.
"15 of our citizens were killed and 22 injured (...) in the accident between a bus, a rescue team and an ambulance (...) on the highway between Gaziantep and Nizip," Gov. Davut Gül said on Twitter.
The Turkish news agency "Demiroren" said that a passenger bus traveling on a highway hit an ambulance, a fire engine and a car of a team of journalists, all of whom were heading to the scene of an earlier accident.
The governor added that three firefighters, paramedics and journalists were among the dead.
Scenes broadcast by the Turkish agency showed the partially destroyed back of an ambulance and car wreckage.
