In order to promote Palestinian history and identity.. “Al-Quds University” celebrates the Palestinian Heritage Day with heritage activities and a book fair

Jerusalem - "Al-Quds" dot com - Al- Quds University revived the Palestinian Heritage Day, on its occasion on the seventh of October. The Cultural Literary Salon in the university library organized several activities and exhibits from the works of students and Palestinian charities and a book fair, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, and under the auspices of the President University Imad Abu Kishk, and in the presence of a crowd of Palestinian cultural and heritage institutions and a group of university professors, employees and students.


On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Abu Kishk believes that Al-Quds University is a beacon for promoting values and knowledge of our Palestinian heritage, and it is concerned with preserving this heritage through the activities it organizes. Thus, he directed his call to the youth on the importance of preserving the Palestinian identity and national values so that we can pass them on from generation to generation, especially in light of the occupation’s attempts to steal our Palestinian heritage and history.


He called a.d. Abu Kishk, researchers at Al-Quds University and all those concerned in Palestine, to conduct research on the authentic Palestinian heritage and write it down, in response to the attempts of the occupation to obliterate our ancient identity and introduce future generations to it.


The Director of the University Library, Professor Khalil Jamous, said: "Our celebration of this distinguished day at Al-Quds University is an affirmation of our people's adherence to their Palestinian national heritage and an integral part of our adherence to our land. The local and international levels in support of cultural and civilizational growth.


The literary salon coordinator, Ms. Navlin Nasser, indicated that this event coincided with the Palestinian Heritage Day, saying: "Heritage is the identity of what man inherited from his ancestors, and our role is to carry this heritage and preserve it from any miserable attempts to obliterate its features by the Israeli occupation," recalling Many Palestinian writers and writers who chronicled the Palestinian heritage did so, and she extended her thanks to all the attendees and associations participating in this event.


The Director of the Directorate of Political and National Guidance for the Jerusalem Regions, Professor Youssef Al-Hout, dedicated his speech on this occasion to the Palestinian Dabkeh as part of our inherited heritage, calling for the importance of forming Dabkeh teams in Palestinian universities and their representation of our heritage in the countries of the world to enhance the Palestinian presence and its history globally.


The Palestinian Costume Society, Ms. Lana Hijazi, gave a presentation about the society, its work, and how they preserved the Palestinian costume throughout the ages. She also gave an explanation about the Palestinian costume in various Palestinian villages and cities and its components. After that, a number of young women represented the Palestinian costume by wearing the uniform of every governorate in Palestine.


The two-day party included a bazaar for handicrafts, traditional food, and an exhibition of books and traditional crafts.
