Ramallah - " Jerusalem " dot com - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates warned the Israeli government, the international community, of the consequences of silence over the hijacking of Jerusalem and the attempts to impose Israeli sovereignty over it and the results and risks of this on the conflict arena and the chances of achieving peace.

In a statement today, Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry held direct responsibility for its Judaization campaigns in Jerusalem, stressing that there is no peace, security, or stability in the arena of conflict and the region without Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine.

She said that the tendency to build more settlement units despite the opposition of the US administration is another new evidence of the arrogance of the occupation and its insistence on refusing to obey international law and resolutions of international legitimacy, and on its perseverance in rebelling against the signed agreements, and denying their existence.

The ministry condemned the continuous colonial expansionist occupation projects in occupied Jerusalem, and the accompanying launch of Israeli political positions and boasts of these projects as an integral part of the process of annexing Jerusalem and consolidating its unification as the capital of the occupying state, the last of which was what was stated by the Israeli minister during his inauguration of the so-called lighting project. The Ministry also condemned the announcement of the so-called Planning and Building Committee of its intention to approve next week the construction of hundreds of new settlement units near the town of Beit Safafa, south of Jerusalem, with the support of the Israeli Minister of Interior, Ayelet Shaked, as part of the open occupation war on the Holy City with the aim of changing its reality. Its landmarks, its identity, its Judaization, and the submergence of its neighborhoods and towns in a huge settlement perimeter leads to its isolation from its Palestinian surroundings, and linking it to the Israeli depth.

And she continued, and this is accompanied by continuous daily targeting of Islamic and Christian sanctities, foremost of which is the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the imposition of more restrictions expelling the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem and deepening the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians, as is the case in the continuous aggression of the occupation on Palestinian educational institutions and the Palestinian curriculum.

She emphasized that the occupying state is exploiting its Talmudic narratives, occasions, holidays and religious sayings to achieve its colonial ambitions in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

The Ministry called on the UN Security Council to assume its legal and moral responsibilities in taking the necessary measures to implement the relevant UN resolutions, and to compel the occupying state to engage in a real political process that leads to ending the occupation of the land of the State of Palestine within a specific time frame.
