Dear Line indicated in a press conference with Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh in Ramallah after she arrived there to meet with him, that the European Union will continue for many years as it was before, and that it is considered the largest donor to the Palestinians with about 600 million euros annually.

This is important, she said, because EU funding supports people, especially the most vulnerable, and helps create conditions for economic opportunity, for example, by enabling access to clean water and reliable energy supplies.

She added: Palestine is now slowly recovering from the pandemic, but it is suffering from the consequences of what it described as "Russian aggression against Ukraine."

She referred to what she described as "Russian aggression" and its devastating impact on food prices and supplies, pointing to Palestine's dependence on Ukrainian grain imports.

She said: The situation has become very difficult now, and the European Union stands with you, and we have mobilized 25 million euros to improve food security in Palestine.

She indicated that she would discuss the peace process with the Palestinian Prime Minister, welcoming all efforts made to achieve peace.

She said: We will remain committed to the negotiated two-state solution, a solution that gives the Palestinian people, especially the youth, the same rights and capabilities as others in the region, that is, an independent, democratic, and viable Palestine living side by side in peace with Israel.

She expressed regret over the death of journalist Sherine Abu Aqleh, stressing the European Union's strong condemnation of her murder, calling for a comprehensive and independent investigation.
