Shaher Saad: The closure of Nablus causes tragedies for the working class

Nablus - "Jerusalem" dot com - Ghassan Al-Katout - Pioneers for Press and Media - The Secretary-General of the General Federation of Palestine Trade Unions, Shaher Saad, affirmed that the closure and continuous siege imposed by the Israeli occupation army on the city of Nablus for the sixth day in a row causes tragedies for the Palestinian working class in Nablus.

Saad explained that nearly 200 workers from Nablus governorate were prevented today from going to their workplaces due to the continuous closure as part of a policy pursued by the occupation to cut off the livelihood of the Palestinian worker in difficult economic conditions, exacerbated by the racist and barbaric measures committed by the occupation soldiers at the separation checkpoints. between the Palestinian cities and the lands occupied in 1948, which in turn stopped the movement of the economic wheel completely.

And Saad indicated that the occupation's inability appears through the policy of collective punishment it imposes on the occupied Palestinian territories in 1967, and the continuous violations it commits against Palestinian workers in the occupied Palestinian territory in 1948.

He added that what Israel is doing is completely contrary to the agreement on freedom of movement and access that was signed in 2005 with the Palestinian government, with the aim of improving the movement of Palestinians and their economic activity within the Palestinian territories.

Saad pointed out that the Palestinian citizen and the public transport sector between cities are exposed to great dangers due to the continuous attacks by the gatherings that settlers call for on the roads near the settlements to open fire, and the throwing of stones at traveling Palestinian vehicles, which caused accidents that resulted in martyrs and serious injuries. .

He said that there is nothing to bind the occupation government to the agreement signed with the Palestinian government, and there is no strong international deterrent that prevents the occupation from practicing its racist policy against the workers and the Palestinian people.
