Despite his critical health condition, the occupation forces return prisoner Abu Hamid, who has cancer, to al-Ramla prison.

Ramallah - "Jerusalem" dot com - The Occupation Prisons Administration returned the detainee, the commander Nasser Abu Hamid, who suffers from cancer, and who faces a critical health condition, to "Ramle" prison, after transferring him yesterday to the Israeli "Asaf Harofeh" hospital, after an additional and serious deterioration occurred. Despite his critical health condition, as it was found that he had severe pneumonia, and despite his urgent need to stay under medical supervision, the prison administration continues to carry out the crime of medical negligence (slow killing) against him and abuse him.

The Captive Club stated that the health condition of the prisoner, Abu Hamid, is very critical, after the spread of cancer in most parts of his body. Today, he suffers from severe weight loss and severe and continuous pain. He moves around in a wheelchair, in addition to that he relies on the presence of an oxygen tube permanently.

Recently, his body no longer responds to painkillers, which are the only medicine he is currently provided with, after the doctors decided to stop chemotherapy, and declared that the course of treatment for him had been exhausted, and they acknowledged that Nasser had reached the last stages.

Tomorrow, Thursday, a session is supposed to be held for him to consider his request for early release by a specialized committee, after the session was postponed twice within less than a month, due to objections submitted by the occupation prosecution.

The Captive Club reaffirmed that this session comes within the framework of continued attempts to obtain his release, despite the diminished hope of achieving his freedom through this committee. As the occupation made substantial amendments and additions to many “legislations and laws” that could have led to the release of Nasser and similar cases, and these amendments turned “laws and legislation” into more extreme and retaliatory tools, and the law excluded prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, and in fact These amendments closed the door to any possibility of releasing a case like the case of the prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid.

It is noteworthy that the prisoner Abu Hamid was subjected to the crime of medical negligence (slow killing) over the years, and his health began to deteriorate clearly in August of last year, and at that time it was discovered late that he had lung cancer due to the delay of the prison administration in conducting medical examinations for him, Until he reached the critical health stage he has reached today.

It is noteworthy that about 600 sick prisoners are in the occupation prisons, including 24 prisoners who suffer from cancer and tumors of various degrees.
