Portugal is experiencing the highest levels of inflation in 30 years
LISBON - (Xinhua) -- Portugal 's inflation rate accelerated to 9.3 percent in September, marking the highest level since October 1992, the National Statistics Office said Thursday.
The results see an increase of 0.4 percentage points compared to the previous month, according to Portugal's official statistics office.
The annual core inflation rate, which excludes energy and unprocessed food products, rose to 6.9 percent in September, above the 6.5 percent mark recorded the previous month.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 1.2 percent in September, exceeding the monthly increase of 0.9 percent in August.
