During the past 24 hours , the Jerusalem Electricity Company crews succeeded in installing new transformers at the Jarad station, south of Bethlehem, with a capacity of 15 megawatts, and at the 'Ararat' station in the city of Beit Sahour, with a capacity of 10 megawatts, as a replacement for the old transformers, which had a lower capacity.

The company stated in a statement issued today, Sunday, that the installation of new transformers with a higher capacity aims to strengthen the feeder networks and increase the stability of the electric current, especially with urban development and the natural increase in the number of subscribers. These development projects also aim to confront the growth of loads in the near future.

The company thanked everyone who facilitated the work of its crews before and during the installation of the transformers, led by the Bethlehem Police Directorate, represented by its director, Brigadier General Thabet Al-Saadi and his deputy, Brigadier General Ibrahim Al-Absi, and the traffic police who organized the movement during the installation of the transformer of the 'Ararat' station in the city of Beit Sahour, and worked to close Roads leading to the site in order to preserve the safety of citizens and facilitate the work of the company's crews.

It is worth mentioning that the cost of the aforementioned projects amounted to about 3 million shekels, and it is part of the company's five-year plan 2020-2024, which aims to enable and develop infrastructure in all its concession areas, which the company's board of directors is closely following up on.
