Medical and local sources announced, at dawn on Saturday, the martyrdom of the youth Fadi Hamdallah Al-Naasan (17 years old) due to critical injuries he sustained about a week ago. Al-Naasan was directly hit by an explosive bullet in the thigh area during his confrontation of an attack by occupation soldiers and settlers on his family's home in Al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, where he remained in intensive care until his passing today.
In the context of field attacks, two Palestinian children sustained various injuries after an attack carried out by groups of settlers on the residents of Wadi Al-Sha'er area, north of the West Bank. Human rights sources reported that this attack comes within a series of systematic attacks targeting the Palestinian presence in mountainous and agricultural areas with the aim of intimidating and displacing residents.
In the central West Bank, a Palestinian citizen was subjected to a brutal assault by an Israeli military force in Kafr Ni'ma village, west of Ramallah. Sources explained that the soldiers abused the citizen and beat him with rifle butts, which led to him sustaining injuries and bruises throughout his body, requiring his transfer for treatment.
In Husan village, west of Bethlehem, a blatant violation of freedom of worship occurred when occupation forces stormed a mosque in the village just before the dawn prayer. Israeli forces prevented the muezzin from making the call to prayer and forced worshipers inside the mosque to leave at gunpoint, preventing the prayer from being held on time.
The occupation forces did not stop at evacuating the mosque in Husan; they also fired a barrage of sound bombs and toxic tear gas at citizens who gathered in the vicinity. These actions caused suffocation among worshipers, in a move described by the villagers as an attempt to impose a new reality targeting religious rituals.
In a recent report by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, data revealed a significant escalation in targeting the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, where the call to prayer was prevented 84 times during the current month. The report indicated that about 950 soldiers stormed the mosque's courtyards and facilities, as part of the ongoing policy of restriction on worshipers and visitors to the Noble Sanctuary.
Official Palestinian bodies warned that these violations represent a transgression of all red lines and international conventions that guarantee the protection of holy sites. The ministry called on the international community and human rights organizations to intervene immediately to stop these practices, emphasizing the need to provide international protection for Islamic and Christian holy sites that are under constant threat.
It is worth noting that the West Bank has been in a state of turmoil since October 2023, where attacks by the occupation and settlers have resulted in the martyrdom of 1181 Palestinians and the injury of thousands of others. These events coincide with widespread arrest campaigns that have targeted nearly 24,000 citizens, amid systematic destruction of infrastructure in various Palestinian camps and cities.
The violations witnessed by Islamic holy sites represent a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international laws and conventions that guarantee freedom of worship.
