The sole survivor of the Labad family.. Child Hala wakes up to the tragedy of her family's annihilation in Tal al-Hawa

Nine-year-old child Hala Hassan Rabah Labad woke up to a tragic reality after losing her entire family in an airstrike that targeted their home in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City. Her small world instantly transformed from family warmth to harsh solitude, as she became the sole survivor of a massacre that erased her family members' names from the Palestinian civil registry. Hala is now in Al-Shifa Hospital, surrounded by bandages and shock, completely unaware that the night she spent with her sisters was their last farewell.

Rescue and search operations under the rubble in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood stopped at Hala's body, which was still breathing, to emerge from the debris carrying an unhealing scar of loss. Medical sources described the child's condition as physically stable but suffering from deep psychological trauma due to the explosion that shook her bed and ended the lives of everyone she loved. This tragedy comes at a time when the targeting of unarmed civilians in densely populated residential areas of Gaza City is escalating.

The tragedy of the Labad family occurred as part of a series of bloody massacres committed by the occupation army on Thursday dawn, where human rights and field organizations monitored 12 new violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Strip. These violations included intense artillery shelling and gunfire, in addition to direct targeting of inhabited residential apartments. These attacks caused a state of panic among citizens who had hoped for relative calm after the recent understandings.

Medical sources at Al-Shifa Hospital reported the martyrdom of 9 people and the injury of 15 others with varying degrees of wounds, as a result of warplanes targeting four residential apartments in the western and southern areas of Gaza City. The raids were not limited to the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood but also affected an apartment belonging to the Al-Ghoul family in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, and another belonging to the Muhanna family near the Abu Yousef Al-Qouqa roundabout in Al-Shati camp. These simultaneous attacks reflect a determination to inflict the greatest possible human losses among civilians.

The suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip continues with ongoing airstrikes targeting residential buildings without prior warning, raising the daily toll of child and female victims. Field sources confirm that targeting the family of child Hala and other families represents a blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws. Amidst this escalation, the fate of survivors like Hala remains suspended between the pain of loss and the challenges of survival in an environment destroyed by the Israeli war machine.

The world of child Hala transformed from family warmth to absolute silence, leaving her as the sole witness whose breath was snatched from the rubble of complete orphanhood.
