The National Executive Committee of the Independent Workers' Union in Argentina held an official meeting in the capital, Buenos Aires, where labor union leaders reaffirmed their steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause. This meeting included a delegation from the Argentine Workers' Union, reflecting the deep human and struggle ties between the struggles of Argentine workers and the Palestinian people.
During the meeting, participants explicitly condemned the genocide being perpetrated by Israeli occupation forces against our people in the Gaza Strip, where more than two and a half million Palestinians are facing catastrophic humanitarian conditions due to the ongoing siege and aggression.
The First Counselor at the Embassy of the State of Palestine, Riyad Halabi, pointed out that the situation in the Gaza Strip has reached an unprecedented level of humanitarian disaster, where the Palestinian people are being systematically starved, with infrastructure being destroyed and the entry of food, medicine, and fuel being prevented.
Halabi also warned of the colonial plan known as Project (E1), which aims to annex vast lands from the West Bank and connect settlements to each other, leading to the fragmentation of Palestinian cities and villages and geographically and economically strangling them.
Halabi emphasized that this project poses a direct threat to the rights of Palestinians and aims to kill the two-state solution, which contradicts international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
The Secretary-General of the Argentine Workers' Union, Hugo Godoy, confirmed that the Palestinian cause represents one of the core banners of the Argentine working class, while the President of the Independent Workers' Union in Argentina, Hugo Yaski, pointed out that the ongoing genocide in Gaza represents a humanitarian tragedy and a disgrace to the international community.
Tilda Rabi, President of the Argentine-Palestinian Entities Union, affirmed that the Palestinian people remain steadfast in the face of attempts at genocide and continue to defend their identity and existence.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to organize a series of solidarity events, including preparations for special activities on November 29, in commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
