The famine has claimed the lives of more Palestinians in the Gaza Strip today, Wednesday, as Israeli occupation forces continued to fire on those waiting for aid in several areas of the strip. The Ministry of Health in the strip announced the martyrdom of 8 people, including 3 children, due to famine and malnutrition within 24 hours, raising the number of martyrs to 235, including 106 children, since the beginning of the Israeli genocide war.
The Nasser Medical Complex reported the death of a child from Khan Younis due to contracting a rising polio disease. Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, director of the Shifa Medical Complex, confirmed in an interview that there are 3 children facing the risk of death due to contracting the rising polio disease, and he called for the urgent entry of medications for this disease and other illnesses into the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, sources in Gaza Strip hospitals reported the martyrdom of 65 Palestinians due to Israeli shelling in several areas of the strip since dawn today, including 25 waiting for aid. A source at the Baptist Hospital confirmed the death of 12 Palestinians in an Israeli airstrike early today on a house in the Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City.
The occupation army also committed a massacre against the Abu Hanidq family, killing 7 of them, including 5 children and a woman, and injuring others, after shelling targeted tents housing them in Tal al-Hawa south of Gaza City. This aggression reflects the continued policy of the occupation in targeting civilians.
On another note, a source in the ambulance and emergency services reported 4 dead and several injured in an Israeli shelling of aid security personnel in northern Gaza Strip. The Ministry of Interior and National Security in Gaza confirmed that the occupation insists on continuing the chaos in allowing quantities of humanitarian aid to enter, committing massacres against tribal security committees.
The ministry added that the occupation practices a systematic policy in targeting humanitarian aid security personnel, leading to increased suffering for the Palestinian people in the strip. It also confirmed that the occupation continues to support groups of thieves and thugs in intercepting aid trucks.
In the south of the strip, the central and northern areas of Khan Younis were subjected to airstrikes, artillery shelling, and gunfire from Israeli helicopters, exacerbating the suffering of the residents.
Dr. Mohammed Abu Afash, director of medical relief in Gaza, confirmed that the health system has become incapable of dealing with the current situation with the spread of several diseases, noting that the medical aid received is insufficient. The health sector recorded about 300 cases of skin diseases in one day, while the necessary medications for treatment are unavailable.
Since October 2023, the Israeli occupation army - with American support - has been waging a genocide war against the residents of the Gaza Strip, resulting so far in the death of more than 61,000 Palestinians and the injury of more than 154,000, displacing almost all the residents of the strip, amid unprecedented destruction since World War II.
The occupation's persistence in crimes targeting humanitarian aid security personnel comes as part of the occupation's policy of engineering starvation.
