A young man was killed early Tuesday morning after Israeli occupation forces opened fire with live ammunition at a commercial store in the city of Qalqilya.

Local sources confirmed that Baraa Yousef Maskawi was killed by Israeli occupation forces in Qalqilya, before his body was seized. Security sources reported that other citizens were injured.

Special forces units, accompanied by military reinforcements, stormed the city from its eastern and northern entrances, raided the al-Naqqar neighborhood, and surrounded a commercial store in the western area where the martyr was staying. They demanded via loudspeakers that he surrender.

The occupation forces fired heavy gunfire at the besieged shop, followed by the launching of Energa missiles, until the young man, Maskawi, was killed. His body was seized. The martyr was a freed prisoner who was released at the end of last year after spending 22 months in captivity.

During the raid and the heavy use of live ammunition, a citizen was injured in the foot by live bullets. He was transferred to Darwish Nazzal Governmental Hospital in the city for treatment, where his injury was described as moderate. A young man, Islam Mustafa Abu Bakr, was also arrested and taken to an unknown location.
