The Israeli occupation forces shot and injured a person in Marjayoun, southern Lebanon.

A Lebanese man was injured on Friday by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire at a car in the Marjayoun district in the south of the country, in a new violation of the ceasefire agreement.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that "enemy forces had just opened fire on a citizen's car while it was traveling on the internal road between the towns of Kfar Kila and Adaisseh, injuring him."

She added that the citizen was transferred to the hospital for treatment, without revealing the severity of his injury.

On October 8, 2023, Israel launched an aggression against Lebanon, which escalated into a full-scale war on September 23, 2024, leaving 4,115 martyrs and 16,909 wounded, including a large number of children and women, in addition to the displacement of approximately 1.4 million people.

Despite a ceasefire agreement that went into effect on November 27, 2024, Israel committed 1,188 violations, leaving at least 94 dead and 300 wounded, according to an Anadolu Agency tally based on official Lebanese data.

Israel has reneged on its commitment to complete its withdrawal from southern Lebanon by February 18, contrary to the agreement. Instead, it has implemented a partial withdrawal and continues to occupy five major Lebanese hills, within the areas it occupied during the last war.

It has also recently begun establishing a border strip extending one or two kilometers inside Lebanese territory.

Israel claims that the reason for its continued presence on the five hills is the Lebanese army's failure to fully fulfill its duties under the ceasefire agreement and its inability to maintain security along the Blue Line, a claim Beirut denies.
