- The UN Security Council held a closed consultation session on Wednesday on the Middle East, and listened to a briefing by the Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction in Gaza, Sigrid Kaag, via video technology.
Kaag referred to Israel's announcement to suspend humanitarian aid to Gaza.
She added that the Secretary-General urged adherence to the ceasefire agreement, and urged Member States to use their influence to support this.
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said Kaag's briefing was her last to the council as humanitarian coordinator, as she would now serve only as UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process.
