Maltese Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg stressed that Gaza is Palestinian land, and the Palestinians must have the right to determine its future.

This came in a statement, in response to a video clip created by US President Donald Trump, using artificial intelligence techniques, in which he shows Gaza as a tourist destination that includes skyscrapers and luxury beach resorts, in addition to a golden statue of Trump himself.

"Gaza belongs to the Palestinians," Borg stressed, adding that foreign policy should be discussed through official channels and not through public statements. He added that Gaza should belong to the Palestinians, and that they should decide to implement the proposed projects, stressing the importance of the two-state solution to achieve peace.

It is noteworthy that Malta adopts a clear position on the Middle East, supporting the two-state solution and stressing the importance of achieving peace and security in the region.
