Broadcasting Authority: Israel will not withdraw from Lebanon within the specified deadline
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation revealed, on Wednesday evening, statements from the Israeli army confirming that it will not complete its withdrawal from southern Lebanon within the deadline specified in the ceasefire agreement, which ends in 72 hours.
The official body reported that representatives of the army recently held a closed meeting with members of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in the Knesset (Israeli parliament), during which they confirmed that the army "will not be able to withdraw from all of southern Lebanon" within the deadline specified in the agreement.
The authority added that the commander of the northern region in the army, Major General Uri Gordin, presented during the meeting, the date of which was not mentioned, "a very bleak picture" of the situation on the border with Lebanon.
Despite hundreds of violations of the agreement by the Israeli army, Gordin claimed that "Hezbollah is violating the ceasefire and the Lebanese army is helping it," according to the commission.
