UNRWA warns of children suffering in Gaza due to malnutrition
As the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip escalates due to the ongoing occupation aggression, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed that about 19,000 children in the Strip were hospitalized due to severe malnutrition during the past four months. The number has doubled since the beginning of this year.
UNRWA also warned that the UN agency's baby milk supplies are running out, confirming that only 6 boxes remain to be distributed.
UNRWA said the remaining boxes were part of a batch it received three months ago, warning that the shortage of supplies poses a major threat to the lives of infants and more than 200,000 people who rely on its essential services.
