Israeli government approves a plan to increase the number of settlers in the occupied Golan
Today, Sunday, the Israeli occupation government approved a plan submitted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to promote "colonial growth" in the occupied Golan Heights settlements, with a budget of more than 40 million shekels.
A statement issued by the Israeli occupation government said that the plan comes in light of "security developments and the new front with Syria," and aims to double the number of settlers in the occupied Syrian Golan.
The decision, which was unanimously approved by the occupation government, coincides with Israel's escalation of its aggressive attacks on Syria.
The statement said that the plan includes "funding projects in the fields of education and renewable energy, in addition to establishing a student village and programs to support the regional council in the Golan to absorb new settlers."
It is noteworthy that the Israeli occupation forces penetrated, a few days ago, several kilometers into the Syrian Golan, and took control of the Syrian Mount Hermon military site. The Israeli Ministerial Council for Political and Security Affairs (the Cabinet) also unanimously approved the decision to occupy the Syrian Mount Hermon in the liberated Golan, while proceeding with the establishment of the “buffer zone.”
