UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the "catastrophe" in Gaza represents "a complete collapse of our humanity," as Israel's war of extermination on the Strip continues for more than 14 months.

"The catastrophe in Gaza is nothing less than a complete collapse of our humanity," Guterres said in a post on the X platform.

"This nightmare must stop," he added.

The UN Secretary-General stressed that "we cannot continue to turn a blind eye" to what is happening in the Strip.
