Naim Qassem: Hezbollah defeated Israel

Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem said: "We have repeated that we do not want war, but we want to support Gaza and we are ready for war if the occupation imposes it."

He added, "The Israeli aggression was very dangerous and caused us pain and made us live in a state of confusion for ten days."

He stressed, "The party regained its strength and initiative, so it formed the command and control system again and stood firm on the front. The party began to strike the internal front of the Israeli enemy, and Israel's losses are very great."

He said, "Hundreds of thousands were displaced from northern Israel, and the enemy reached the point of closing the horizon because of the resistance's steadfastness. The legendary steadfastness of the resistance terrified the Israeli army and caused despair among its politicians and people."

He added, "We did not want war from the beginning, but the result of stopping it was that we wanted it from a position of strength and under fire."

He stressed, "We achieved a great victory in this battle, greater than the victory achieved in 2006."
