Yedioth Ahronoth: The probability of the return of fighting in Lebanon is 50%

Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted an Israeli officer as saying that officials in the Israeli security establishment estimate the possibility of a return to fighting in Lebanon at 50%.

The Israeli officer added, "The clearer the rules of the ceasefire agreement and its implementation, the more it will hold up later."

This comes amidst an exchange of accusations of violating the ceasefire agreement that began implementation on Wednesday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a television interview on Thursday that the agreement was not the end of the war, threatening to return to "fierce war" if the ceasefire was broken.

On the other hand, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that the American and French officials in the ceasefire monitoring committee are currently holding a series of meetings with the Lebanese Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, and representatives of Lebanon, Israel, and the International Emergency Forces (UNIFIL) in the monitoring committee.

The Israeli army announced yesterday, Thursday, that its aircraft bombed a facility used by Hezbollah to store medium-range missiles in southern Lebanon, according to its claim, in the first attack of its kind since the ceasefire went into effect on Wednesday morning.

An Israeli drone also bombed a car in the town of Markaba, south of Lebanon, injuring 3 people.

The Israeli army said it targeted "suspects" who arrived in vehicles to several areas in southern Lebanon, describing it as a violation of the ceasefire agreement.

For its part, the Lebanese army accused Israel of violating the ceasefire several times on Wednesday and Thursday, through "air violations and shelling of Lebanese territory with various weapons," adding that it is following up on the violations in coordination with the relevant authorities.
